This Synth Records Compilation Is Fantastic

We have been keeping up with Synth Records for quite some time now. I have purchased and downloaded almost everything they have put out. Artists Teeel, Crozet, Shades, Secret School, and Another Green World are found on this release and have all been written about here in NB. I am happy to see some newer artists I have yet to discover on this compilation. So synthy, so dreamy, and so wavy. Please support this awesome label and download the compilation. Head on over to their Facebook and hit em with a like!
An Informal Interview with: TEENS
Here’s the first in a series we’re working on with the artists we met at Treefort Music Fest in Boise, Idaho. We were lucky enough to get press passes to cover the festival and it turned out to be even better than any of us expected. I don’t want to ramble on about it, maybe we’ll do a recap post about it later, but I do want to say a very sincere thank you to everyone that made this trip possible and to all the bands and great people we met along the way. It was an amazing time and we got some amazing footage.
David and Connor from TEENS are some of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met, and they put out some great tunes. We caught up with them in the artist lounge and ran outside to do a quick interview that kind of just turned into us chatting and reminiscing about the festival thus far. Don’t expect a lot of questions and answers, the way we’ve been doing interviews isn’t very conventional – let’s hope it’s a good thing. Fans of the surf/punk/garage scene will love these guys, and even if you don’t delve into that genre from time to time, you’ll appreciate what they’re doing and their insight on the current Boise scene. I love TEENS and I hope you do, too. Be sure to check out the music if you haven’t already, and please do enjoy this informal interview.
(Available in 1080p because we love the eyes that look at our site)
Check out TEENS on Bandcamp and keep up with them via Facebook.
They also mentioned Shades, Atomic Mama, and The Spyrals, and I’d definitely recommend checking them out as well. I think our interview with Shades is on deck, so look forward to that.
I love TEENS, I love Boise, I love all of you, and I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity. Good things are coming, check back often. Take care.
Clear Motions
That’s the name of Shades first album dropping January 24th. Here is a little promo to get you as excited as we are. Expect a full post as soon as it drops. Until then enjoy what you got.
NEW VIDEO/// Neighborhood Brains Presents Recap!
Thanks to everyone who made it to the show and I hope you enjoy our little recap. Thanks to everyone who reads. Thanks to these dudes for making great music. Thanks to whoever created peanut butter, what was his name again? Thanks to Reese Witherspoon for looking so good in Walk The Line. Thanks to Brazil for their excellent food which I partook in tonight. Thanks to airplanes for making traveling so much easier. Thanks to stupid girls who don’t text me back for teaching me lessons about how to deal with depression and heartbreak… Wait, ignore that last line. Thanks to everyone though, for real, we love you.
How does SHADES do it?
Everytime. It is beautiful. I need a girlfriend. Thank you Boise.

Youth Lagoon and Shades. Two artists that absolutely slay me. These guys are friends and I love the tunes. I WANT MORE, but sadly for now there are only a few tracks to toss on repeat. Youth Lagoon tracks are a bit like the soundtrack to the best dream I’ve ever had. A dream so good that I am sad to come out of it. A moment when everything is perfect. Perfect dreamy electronic music to keep us goin through the springtime. Youth Lagoon is said to be releasing his album THE YEAR OF HIBERNATION digitally on July 5th, on Juno Beach Records (and in 10″ format soon after). Download BOTH of Youth Lagoon’s tracks below from his recent free release July + Cannons on Bandcamp.

Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. Shades. What is there to say about new project from Boise natives, Louie Bash, David Mikkelson, Mikael Barnes, and Nathan Hope. To be honest we really don’t know much about these dudes yet. I will say this though, I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull’s ass but I’d rather take the butcher’s word for it. Just listen to me when I say download their new tracks Hard Fall and Tapes now.
