A new bedroom project is emerging from the far away land of Memphis. Another Green World, a.k.a. Alec West must have trapped himself in his room between a few synthesizers, a computer monitor, maybe a guitar or two and a recording mic for the last 5 years since he began in 2007. Somewhere in there was a bed and a dresser, an old TV playing various 80s cult films in the background, and maybe some cool chair from Ikea depending on how large his bedroom is. The nice thing about the first album, Shapes, which I’m listening to right now; is that there’s a serious variety of sounds while holding a consistent vibe throughout. Some tracks are instrumentals, some tracks have vocals that caught me by surprise, and when it ended it left me feeling like I needed to venture out into the night with a flashlight and find out where one eyed willy buried his treasure.

Today it was announced that Another Green World’s newest album ‘In Dreams’  will be released on emerging electronic label Synthemesc. You may recognize some of the names they represent, like  TEEEL, Shades, Crozet, Soft Lighting, and Secret School.
